Ramadan iftar and sehri packaging

During Ramadan, restaurants, caterers, mosques and welfare groups pack iftar boxes and serve iftar for large numbers in a short window before sunset. The usual list is a plate or tray for pakoras, samosas and dates, a bowl for fruit chaat or dahi bhallay, a glass for sharbat or juice, a straw, cutlery and a bag to hand everything over.

Bagasse plates, bowls and compartment meal trays, listed as biodegradable, and white paper bowls cover the food; clear juice glasses with dome lids and paper cups cover drinks; and foil containers with lids carry hot sehri and iftar meals for delivery. Kraft boxes and brown paper food bags are useful for iftar boxes that are handed out. Work out quantities per person per day and order before Ramadan starts, so the whole month is planned in one quotation.
